Lets Go Ireland 12th Edition
- A practical guide to night life wonders
- Your ticket to affordable travel
- The hippest testimonials to the culture experience you crave!
The Let's Go series of travel guides is written by Harvard college students for both college and high school students, and is ideal for those wishing to travel on the most meager of budgets. Let's Go Ireland opens with some pre-travel advice on passports, tourist offices, consulates, visas, identification, customs, money, tipping, local laws, staying healthy, telephones, camping, traveling alone, finding cheap airfare, and dietary concerns while abroad. You will also find a condensed history of Ireland and descriptions of recent politics and current events, and summaries of language and religion in Ireland. Art, literature, music, film, and food play important roles in Ireland and Let's Go Ireland tells you what they are.
Lets's Go Ireland is divided into sections that cover major regions of the country. Each section includes maps of the major cities within the area, transportation to and around the region, and local services (tourist information, telephones and internet, postal services, etc.) You will find helpful information on finding accommodations, including both hotels and youth hostels. The restaurant listings are categorized by price and a brief description is given, including operating hours. Following this more practical information, you will find tourist attractions. You will be able to read about each site, usually including historical information, directions to the site, operating hours, and pricing. Each section also includes segments on local entertainment and shopping, as well as night life and day trips. The color maps found in the front of the book are detailed walking maps covering Cork, Galway, Dublin, and Belfast. We recommend Let's Go Ireland to every traveler who wants to see the country on a budget, or who just wants the inside scoop before heading abroad.
Areas covered in Let's Go Ireland include:
County Dublin - including Dublin and her suburbs. Eastern Ireland - including County Wicklow, County Meath, County Louth, and the Midlands.
