The 50 Watt Voltage Converter is a short-term converter for use with appliances rated from 1 to 50 watts. As a general rule any appliance that does not produce heat falls into this category. Curling irons, however, are an exception to that rule. That said, this 50 watt converter is the right choice for battery chargers, curling irons and electric razors and more. Simply consult your appliance and determine its wattage. If the voltage rating is anywhere between 1 and 50 watts this is the correct converter.

How long can I have this plugged in?
The short-term designation means that this appliance is designed to run for about 30-45 minutes at a time. If run any longer, it will shut itself off as protection against overload. When this happens simply unplug the unit to let it cool down and reset for future use.

I have a camcorder battery that takes much longer than this to charge, what should I use?
For items that take several hours to recharge or need to be plugged in for longer periods of time, you will need our 85 watt continuous use converter. It is built to higher standards and can be used 24 hours a day, seven days a week when needed.

Do I also need to use an adapter plug with this converter?
While this does have the continental Europe (B) plug built in, you will need an extra adapter to fit into recessed outlets you might encounter, as well as the corresponding plug for other parts of the world.

My battery charger is dual voltage, do I still need a converter?
No. In this case all you need are the adapter plugs to modify your device to fit the outlets for the part of the world you're traveling to.

How much space will this take up in my suitcase?
